Kalaw is a hill town in the Shan State of Myanmar. Its altitude is 1,300 m and pine trees surrounding mountain scenery and provide a pleasant atmosphere. You can make short trips to Pa-O and Palaung villages Kalaw. It is so peaceful and quiet.


The main attractions of Kalaw is the city itself, with its model of Tudor colonial bungalows, its ethnic mix of the population, and their establishment within walking distance of many villages of ethnic minorities.


 

 

Pindaya caves

 

Pindaya is locateded at 1164 m above sea level and is about 40 km from Kalaw. Its extensive limestone caves and Shwe U Min Pagoda which is full of Buddha images of about 8000. Pindaya itself is a centre for the Myanmar speaking Taung-Yo people.
