It lies in Taungdwingyi, Magway Division. It was said to be built some 300 years before Gautama Buddha by King Peikyaung the fifth in the line of kings namely Thagaya and Thaketa that came from the land of Thinkatha Nagara of Mizzima Desa. The father did not finish it. So the son King Thandaung had to complete it at the height of 30 cubits.

N Sakarit 191, after 1700 years, it was repaired by Min Pyaung, Min Yaung, Min Naung, Min Naga and sister Saw Kalay of Kalinga, Mizzima Desa, enshrining the relics of Gautama Buddha, to a height of 30 cubits. It was then named Shwe-In-Taung, which was later renamed to be Zeya Mingala Shwe-In-Taung Pagoda.

In Sakarit 640, King Thihapate repaired the pagoda to be of a height of 66 cubits and a half. Also built were satellite pagodas numbering 175 in the first tier , 148 in the second and 91 in the third.

It is now very famous in Taungdwingyo.
