It was built in 474 King Min Shin Saw, the first son of King Alaungsithu, at the corner of 82nd and 24th Street in Aung-myay-tha-zan township in the south-west of Mandalay.
The story was that Min Shin Saw was going on tour of Mandalay when he go to the site and saw a golden crown resging on an old zedi. He was pleased with it and so built a cave pagoda there. Together with Shwe-kyee-myint Buddha image in the eastern tazaung are other images namely Shinbyu, the Zabupati King’s sermon, Shwelinbin, Shwemomauk, Anya Thihadaw, Myatheindan Emerald Buddha, a tooth relic, pure diamond Buddha Image, Emeraled Buddha and Gold Buddha Image.
