It was built in the original name of Ceylon-returnee Pagoda south of Shwe Zedi Yeiktha in Myothit Ward,Saging, by a monk who came back from Ceylon (Sri Lanka) in 606, enshrining the relics brought from there.
It was named Shin- bin Nan-Oo Pagoda by Athinkhaya Saw Yun of Saging in 677 as it lay at the head of the palace . Anyway it was built some 70 years before the advent of Sagaing Period. Reference 1. Ancient Pagodas in Myanmar Vol I , Jan 2003, by Myat Min Hlaing |
