It is situated near Thatbyinnyu Phaya, south-west of Thandawkya Phaya. It was built in 10th century by King Taungthugyi.
It is shaped like a giant ear-stud. Legend has it that it was named after Bagan Ngakywe strongman of great fame of Bagan. It is of the same shape as Dhammacakka stupa built by King Thiri Dhamma Thawka at the spot Buddha delivered the first sermon at Migadawon near Baranathi. It also resembles Bawbawgyi Phaya, Phayagyi and Phayama at Thraykhittaya ancient city site of Phyu Period. Reference 1.
