It is on the left of Anawrahta Road to Bagan from Nyaung U South of Thatbyinnyu Phaya in the old city. It was taken o be built by King Narapati Sithu in AD 12 century as it had almost the sam floral designs and decorative artworks as on the corner posts of Sulamani Zedi built by Kin Narapati Sithu, bu some say it coul have been built by a minister of that reign.
It has two-tier cave structure about 50 feet in height. On the terraces are eight encircling pagodas. The entrances are facing the west. In the upper cave are four Buddha images. In the Gandhakui Taik are two Buddha images back o back at the centre facing east and west. On the ceiling are murals and on the southern wall of the tazaung are images of 28 buddhas.
